We can thank all the greedy Goddamn realtors in this country for jacking up house prices to earn larger commissions. Throughout the past several years, the real estate agents have been listing houses at ridiculous prices . . . once they sink the hook into a buyer, then another house on the block gets listed at an even higher price . . . and so on and so on. Say what you will, but these people have caused most of the problems we are facing in the real estate market today. Now the chickens are coming home to roost, and who is whining the loudest?? You guessed it. Once the hogs have eaten up all the slop at the trough, they generally start squealing for more.It was a housing bubble. There are a million empty houses just in Florida. Anyone who thinks we will have a good month and suddenly all these excess houses are bought and occupied are nieve. Housing is not going to lead us out of the recession, it will be an anchor and take years to return to normal. What will get jobs back in this country is manufacturing and the only way that will happen is if Americans start buying American made goods. The exporting countries we compete with have a national sense of family and support their own workers. In this country we complain about our workers and somehow don't even give a thought to who the workers are whose jobs we support when we buy imports. Wake up, America!
