I guess people forget that 20 percent of the insurgent force in Iraq was made up of these eastern Libyan "Freedom Fighters" I'll bet every one of them have killed or tried to kill American soldiers. Let's hope I'm wrong.America has joined in the conflict in Libya because President Gadhafi has said "There will be no mercy". In countries like Libya where there are war-lords and tribal customs, tough talking is the name of the game. Do you think the REBELS aim to show mercy to Colonel Gadhafi? Are you kidding? Have you seen their weapons? By the way, who is supplying them with these monster weapons. I suppose most of them are seeking to enter Tripoli to shake hands with Colonel Gadhafi and to show him what mercy is all about.
