The IRA is for the most part despised by Irish-Americans and most Irish nationals. Most of us recognize them for what they are, terrorists.This police officer was in the same situation as Iraqis and Afghan cadets. People who believe in their country and want to try and make it a better p;ace by joining the police force. The sad thing is that the old regime won't let go. Their hold on the people is weakening.
