Again, Professor Emiritus Tan Sri Khoo Kay Kim made a mockery of Kesultanan Melayu Melaka. He said in an interview in The New Sunday Times dated 29th January 2012 that Hang Tuah is just a myth. Well, I do not know his malicious intent. He used to work in Malaya University and was even promoted as an Emiritus Professor. He even got his Tan Sriship from the Yang Dipertuan Agung. Later, when his contract was not renewed, he went to work in Singapore. Now, as a Dean in a private instituition in Selangor, he is making this new allegation that Hang Tuah does not exist. Before this, Hang Tuah and the other Malay warriors namely Hang Jebat, Hang Kasturi, Hang Lekir and Hang Lekiu were allegedly being accused as not being Malays but Chinese. They were actually 'Ang U Ah, Ang Yee Bat, Ang As Tu Li, Ang Lee Kee and Ang Lee Que. What a stupid statement! Are these statement made in order to downgrade the Malays? The Malays were once master of the sea and even the Malaccan Sultanate Empire was well known all over the world. Tom Peres, a historian even said that whoever controls Malacca controls Venice. Even 183 languages were used during the Dynasty of Malaccan Sultanate. The existence of Hang Tuah were documented in some European scholar documents. In one of the documents, Sultan Mahmud Syah was mentioned saying to his Bendahara, Tun Mutahir; 'How I wish Hang Tuah is still around' when Malacca was to succumb to Portugese in 1511. Do I need to say more? Go figure! Anda mungkin juga meminati: Raja-Raja Melayu Perlu Bertindak Mencabar Raja-Raja Melayu Kenapa perlu taat Raja Melayu?
