It is quite inaccurate to cast the disenchanted in the mid-east as pro-democracy movements. A more accurate assessment would be that they are anti-bad government movements. The mid east has several clear examples of what democracy does really represent. In Iraq, the freedom and democracy brought by the US invasion has resulted in anarchy and it is worse than before Saddam was deposed. The US, itself, while talking the democracy talk, has not walked the democracy walk, as congress continues to ignore the electorate, mislead through media, and spend money it does not have.
Freedom, as a political sales pitch is mostly meaningless. We must pay taxes, or else. We must drive the correct speed limit, in a car compliant with EPA standards, in the way prescribed by law. Although certain advantages may be associated with compliance with traffic laws, to say the residents of Hawaii are more free now than before the US invasion is ludicrous. Freedom is a relative term and to think we have it to share with others is one of the most absurd ideas since the middle ages.
What we have is a system based on capital. This system is designed to maintain the wealthy and keep the balance of the population as workers, supporting the desires and bank balance of the wealthy. The founding fathers were some of the richest people in the country at that time. Surely, you did not think the resources of America would be shared among all Americans???
So, fight on, disenchanted masses, your fight will become mis-labeled, distorted, and used for political gain by the spin doctors of media. Freedom, democracy, wealth, poverty, and more will continue to be used as propaganda tools to distort the workings of world conquest. These were the same tools used by Hitler, himself.
