Every federal agency is governed by do-nothings who make big money, and have been promoted to a position which they cannot handle. Favoritism, cronies, pay-offs, call it want you want, the American public continues to suffer.The purpose of the dept. is to coverup and lie to the public. Did they ever come out with the flight 93 to crash in washing dc. that plane was shot down. The attack on the airliner in Long Island sound is another coverup. It was taken out by a surface to air weapon, and witnessed by many. the FBI went to all the witnesses at their homes. If they had a photograph. which were many with cell phones they took the evidence. They never returned the cell phones. Why was the FBI in control of the investigation?And I suppose you think that things will get better now that the republicans are planning to cut government programs except their favorite, WAR.Though currently retired, I had been a certificated aircraft mechanic for over 35 years. I held an Inspection Authorization for over 30 of those years. Civilian aviation has been in meltdown for decades. Airworthiness decisions regarding safety of flight issues aren't made by mechanics... they are made by business managers, lawyers, and accountants. All the serious aviators have fled the industry for the higher-paying trade sector. The FAA has condoned this manifesto for years. They are freakin' useless... The agency should be dismantled...the budget applied to the deficit.
