Seriously, what are we really spending half a trillion dollars a year for?
When I was in Basic Training, a VERY long time ago, it was the evil communists I was 'fighting.' We watched propaganda films about the evil communists - and as I watched, I was struck by the thought of a bunch of Russian soldiers, sitting in a room watching propaganda films about us evil capitalists. I wondered if they thought about us watching the same crap, and were we actually buying it? Were they?
I've since met, and worked with many who were on the other side, and they WERE watching the propaganda. And they thought the same things I thought. One summed it up the best - "The only people who actually bought it, were the ones who really wanted to kill people. Doesn't matter who, as long as it's legal."Suggestions- quit protecting Saudi Arabia, South Korea, and Europe....... they are all big boys-- it is time they took care of THEIR OWN DEFENSE AND PROBLEMS...
Other suggestions-- close about 50% of the bases scattered all over the world--maybe locate 4 or 5 on our borders with the corrupt nation of mexico!!
PRESTO--- over 200 BILLION SAVED!!!
