A few reasons why the rebels wont succeed in overthrowing Gadhafi, 1. the second grade was the longest 7 years of their lives. 2. most have never held a gun in their hands prior to this conflict. 3. they shoot more bullits in the air than they do at the enemy. 4. their army transport is made up of fords toyotas and chevys.Even a stalemate is in Gaddafi's favour as NATO cannot bomb Libya indefinitely. It had to stop bombing Serbia and leave Milosevic in power in 1999. The same will happen in Libya. NATO will have to pack and go home, tail between legs.NATO has tied itself to a corpse. The rebels have no chance of winning the war. They also get not benefit from NAT which cannot change the facts on the ground. The Western leaders hope to oust Gaddafi quickly but that was merely wishful thinking. Gadaffi is on the offensive despite NATO's desperate efforts and remains firmly in control of his oil, to the chagrin of the western leaders who covet it.War has been good for business:
Divert attention for domestic problems
Selling weapons in exchange for natural resources, keeping the high tech sector humming
reconstruction contracts for the winners and economic dominance, devastations at the expense of the losers
The drawbacks are:
You have to lie
People will lose lives
instability and terrorism created is bad for business
There comes to a tipping point that drawbacks are greater than advantages.
