ARAB-ISRAELI ALLIANCE?
Israel would like certain Arab countries to ally with it against Iran.
Saudi arabia, Egypt and Jordan are worried about the power of Shiite Iran.
But there are reasons why an Arab-Iraeli alliance may be difficult to arrange.
Reportedly, people within the Obama regime want to keep in with Iran.

And many Arab countries are a mixture of Sunnis and Shiites.
On 21 May 2009, Rufiz Hafizoglu, at Trend news, wrote about an Arab-Jewish union against Iran.

Among the points made:
1. Netanyahu has been to Jordan and Egypt.
He has said that Iran's nuclear program is dangerous for the region and that Israel is ready to cooperate with the Arab world to solve this problem.
He wants an Arab-Jewish anti-Iranian union.
2. The Secretary General of the Arab League, Amr Moussa, stated that it is nuclear-armed Israel that presents a threat to the Arab world nuclear view, not Iran.
"Why has the nuclear program [Iran] become the subject of debate, but nobody protests against Israel's nuclear program?" Amr Moussa asked.
3. However, Egypt, Jordan and Saudi Arabia are concerned about Shiite Iran.
4. Jordan is concerned about the establishment of the "Shiite crescent", which could include Iran, Iraq, Syria, Lebanon and Palestine.
Iraq has fallen under Iran's influence and in Iraq the "Mehdi Army" has fought against the coalition forces.
Shiites gained a majority in the parliamentary elections in Iraq.
5. The armed clash between local Shiites and government forces in Yemen in 2009 has forced the traditional Sunni Arab countries to think of the serious danger in the face of "Shiite crescent."
6. Saudi Arabia worries about Hezbollah in Lebanon. In 2006, during the 34-day war between Israel and Lebanon's Hezbollah, one of the best-known scholars of Saudi Arabia, Abdullah ibn al- Jibrin banned not only assistance, but also prayer for Hezbollah's victory.
7. In late 2008, during Israeli operations in Gaza, Iran and Hezbollah did not give military support to Hamas, but they gave moral support.
8. Iran has great prestige among the Muslims.
There are some Shiites in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, Yemen and UAE.
Shiites live in the regions rich in oil.
9. In Egypt, the Muslim Brotherhood has always had close ties with Iran and Shiite Muslims.
10. Turkey, Israel's closest ally in the Middle East, has become less close to Israel, as can be seen from Erdogan's speech at Davos.
