The UK is jelous of Germany, which rules Europe and is certainly not far from the same financial bankruptcy as Greece.
Weak European Nations have to face up to their debt, not like the bankrupt states in the US, like California and Michigan, which just drag balloning debts around forever.
I would love to read stories, what the plans of the US and UK are to get their finances under control. I am waiting.The Euro has to fail because too many countries -PIIGS and more- expect free money!
Many different governments with different leadership and all corrupt (this is always the case in governments throughout history) trying to make as much money for themselves!
Oh yes gold is a good storage of value (you can't print gold and it is rare and hard to get) but so is the case for other rare elements (silver,platinum,paladium etc) or another way to back currency is using other commodities (lumber, food, textiles, etc)
