NAFTA was signed into law by Clinton. NAFTA facilitated the movement of American jobs to Mexico and Canada.
Clinton signed a law repealing the Glass-Segal Act. The Glass-Segal Act placed many constraints on the banking industry. It’s repeal effectively de-regulated the banking industry and set up the tools for the subprime mortgage debacle.
Clinton’s last two years in office showed a budget surplus. Clinton’s last four years in office had a republican controlled congress. Congress controls the American checkbook.
Bush inherited an unemployment rate of 3.9 percent and a national debt of $5.7 trillion.
In November 06, when democrats took control of congress the unemployment rate was 4.5 percent and our debt was $8.61 trillion.
Four years later (today) our unemployment is 9.6 percent and our debt is $13.7 trillion and climbing.
During the last four years that democrats have been in control of congress our unemployment rate has doubled and out national debt has increased by 50 percent. How much longer can this country endure being ran by the “party of food stamps”?
Don’t take my word for this. Look it up. While you’re at it, do a little research on Chris Dodd. You’ll find that he received $103k from AIG in campaign contributions in 2008. You’ll also find that he initially denied, and later admitted, that he inserted a provision in TARP to insure the AIG executives received their bonuses from the TARP funds..
