I disagree with Clinton. Libya was reforming itself in a huge way. The media were there. Kadhafi had renounced WMD's, nuclear power, and terrorism. There were about 30,000 turks in the country mostly doing construction, and the same with the Chinese and people from Africa. The construction would have made new opportunities, provided housing and made Libyan's lives better, and they were making friends with the West, and had contracts for oil with western companies.
The country was not a recluse state like Syria, causing trouble for it's neighbors, and did business with the USA too, and was fighting terrorism, unlike Syria.
Of course Kadhafi was fighting to put down a rebellion, and made threats on his people, but the threats were that he would search for weapons and deal with those that had them, he did not threaten to kill everyone. We have probably killed more people than would have been killed in Libya if we had stayed away.
We committed an unprovoked act of war on Libya, and we should have stayed out of it, because if Syria does start mass murdering it's people, we will look like chicken crap if we don't go there now, even if it does start a wider war including Iran. Obama screwed up, and anyway you slice and dice it, we should have stayed out of internal problems in Libya, and he should be impeached for not consulting congress before he started a war there, so the whole thing could have been thought out better.
It is not Kadhafi, but Obama that has lost his legitimacy to lead, and he should step down and leave the country, and please don't come back until you provide your birth certificate to prove you ever have belonged here.
