Down in my neck of the woods, Protestant and other non-Catholic "men of the cloth" abuse children, especially little boys, at a dizzying rate. I once worked with a very sweet, feminine little boy who was abused by FOUR different pastors. One of my friends lives in the sticks in Texas....you can't find a decent loaf of bread out there to save your life, but within 6 miles of his home there are 13 churches. Out of the 13, the leaders of NINE of them were busted for molesting children. The behavior would spin out of control at church camp, which the pastors apparently viewed as some kind of a singles cruise.

Giving any energy or honor to clowns that claim to have a hotline to an imaginary man in the sky is a dicey proposition at best. The number of parents who have sent their kids off with these creeps is staggering, and the kids are often ordered to do whatever the church camp authority figures tell them to do. Of course, kids from religious families are much less educated and much easier to trick, manipulate, and intimidate, so they're ripe for the perversions of the holy man.

The simple fact that religious institutions exist undeniably has resulted in innumerable child rapes.
