It is curious how the "journalist" notes in the last paragraph how "The IRA killed nearly 1,800 people in a failed 1970-1997 campaign to force Northern Ireland out of the United Kingdom." The writer of the article fails to note that Protestant paramilitary forces and British military forces killed as many Catholics during the same period. It is safe to say that this is biased journalism. Why is the dateline Dublin....shouldn't it be Belfast? Too many Americans already don't know the difference. Not that it matters to the story, but it does seem curious.Oh God here we go with the Catholic bashing again........look up a wikipedia story on the Corporal Killers......see a picture of a priest on his knees, giving last rights to a young soldier that had been dragged from a car by a crowd attending a republican funeral, stripped and shot....THEN come to me blaming the Catholics.
The pain on that priest's face will live with me all of my life. You can't blame them all for the actions of the few.
Incidentally I am English and not a Catholic.
