Let's get this done! Then ON TO SYRIA!! YEAHHH!!!!!!
---
I'd love to see the fr@gs launch a few Rafalles off the Charles de Gaulle across Israeli airspace unannounced and see how far they got. My guess is they wouldn't make it past Haifa. I could just see Sarkozy stamping his feet; while Netanyahu shrugged and said whoops, my bad. Bombing Syria is Israel's business, and they'd be d@mned to have NATO cluck that up.
Sure, Israel doesn't like Assad and bombs him when need be; but his regime falling would be Israel's worst nightmare as far as Syria is concerned. Who is the most organized of Syria's would be "rebels"? Hezbollah. Seeing as how they are shia, while Syria is 70% sunni, you'd end up with a civil war. Perfect breeding ground for Al Qaeda and their affiliates.
We haven't heard about Hezbollah attacking Israel through Syria in ages. All of the recent attacks have been through Lebanon, and the Golan Heights has been relatively calm for years until all of this uppity ayrab stuff started in Tunisia. Why? Because Assad is keeping the leash tight on Hezbollah, knowing that if he lets them loose, he might wind up with a GBU on his dinner table. If Hezbollah got governmental representation like they have now in Lebanon, the Golan Heights will become a war zone once again.
