The U.S. Goverment intervene in Libya in the name of human rights, but pretend they don´t see what is happening in China. Why?.Everybody wants decent human rights. Sadly, human rights nowadays are nothing but a racist and political weapon for some coutnry to bash others with
It's not that China didn't pursue more human rights in the past. But history had demonstrated the failure of implementing western style democracy when the time was not ripe. For China to enter into the so-called "democratic system" when the time is not right will only lead to constant bickerings and get nothing done. It's true that Chinese system needs more accountabilty . But if China wants to develop fast, at the monment, supreme power works better than a multi-party system. It will cahnge in the future. But western style democracy may simply not be the answer even then. I don't see American style government fumdamentally roots out graft or always turns out best leaders for that matter. When y ask people to elect a leader, more often than not they choose some eloquent nice guy. Politics is one of the most complex issue in the world. Most people don't really understand it. So when y ask the masses to make the choice, y're asking some outsiders to choose a professional. They don't always elect the best leader. They elect the guy they like. There's fundermental flaw in that method
