why people want to hate? People care what goes on in the world,is that so wrong??Just giving their opinion,if you dont like it,dont read it Graeme!A long time ago, the English went into Scotland, and kicked the Scots off the best land.

The Scots then went to Northern Ireland, Canada, or the United States.

If this is so, why not kick the English out of Scotland?

Then the Scots could go back to Scotland, and the Irish would get back Northern Ireland.this is the situation:

(1) Irish people invaded parts of Mainland Scotland, and settled there.

(2) The Scottish-born descendants of those Irish settlers moved back to Ireland in the 17th century and displaced the Irish who were living there by force of arms.

(3) In the early part of the 20th century, the Irish movement for independence and an end to British rule over the Island of Ireland reached it's zenith.

(4) 1920's - Britain granted independence to most of the counties of Ireland, but not to 6 counties in the north, whose populace (the descendants of the people who came from Scotland in the 17th century and who were themselves descendants of irish invaders to Scotland in earlier centuries) were militant in their desire to remain a part of Britain.

In Short, the militants from the South (IRA) wish to force the people in the north to change their minds about allegiance to Britain by means of terrorism. In response, the people of the North formed their own militant factions to counter the IRA.

The majority of people in mainland Britain couldn't care less about what the situation is in Ireland. By the way, you could probably count the number of English in Scotland on one hand, whereas the number of Scottish, Welsh, and Irish in England is in the millions
