A word to the wise, best to examine your own history before you cast stones at others
The US record on human rights? Let's examine the historical record:
The legacy of slavery and slave trade from the discovery of America to the Civil War
The legacy of the American Indian and systematic destruction of their culture
The legacy of Mexicans and the annexation of Texas and California
The legacy of Chinese who built the railroads and who were systematically discriminated against
The legacy of gender inequality in America
The systematic discrimination against African-Americans up through the modern era
The internment of Japanese Americans during WW2
the list goes on and on...

As for Tibet, ask yourself this...If Puerto Rico wanted to separate from the US or if Native Americans wanted to reclaim their land, do you think for one minute the US is not going to respond to protect what it feels is a sovereign interest? Will the US let for one second outsiders determine the validity of its borders and territorial domain? China has a legitimate right to its territorial claims over Tibet just as the US has a right to Puerto Rico. Ask Argentina what happened when they tried to claim rights over the Falklands.
