"The Woman Refusing To Go To The Bed Of Her Husband When He Calls Her Is A Major Sin 4:14 PM Shaykh Muhammad Ibn Abdil-Wahhaab al-Wassaabee (may Allaah preserve him) mentioned in his book "Tahdheer min at-Tabarruj was-Sufoor" pg. 96: "The Woman Refusing To Go To The Bed Of Her Husband When He Calls Her Is A Major Sin On the authority of Abee Hurayrah (may Allaah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam) stated: "When the man calls his wife to his bed and she refuses to come, the angels curse her until the morning." (Bukhaari 4898/ Muslim 1436) In another narration with Imaam Al-Bukhaari and Imaam Muslim: "...the angels curse her until she returns (to his bed)." On the authority of Abee Hurayrah (may Allaah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam) said: "I swear by the One who my soul is in His hands, there's no man that calls his wife to his bed and she refuses, except that the One who is above the heavens is angry with her until he (the husband) is pleased with her." (Muslim 1436) On the authority of Abee Umaamah Al-Baahilee (may Allaah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam) said: "There are three types of people who their prayer doesn't go pass their ears. The runaway slave until he returns, a woman who spends the night with her husband upset with her and the leader of a people while they dislike him." (Tirmidhee, Declared Hasan by Shaykh Al-Albaani in Saheeh Aal-Jaami' 3057, Mentioned by Shaykh Muqbil in as-Saheeh al-Musnad 1/357)." Points of benefit: Imaam An-Nawawi (may Allaah have mercy upon him) stated: This is an evidence for the prohibition of her refusing the bed of her husband without a legislated excuse. Menstruation is not a legislated excuse because he has a right to the enjoyment of her (during this time) in that which is above the waist wrap." Also Imaam An-Nawawi mentioned: "The curse remains upon her until the act of disobedience ceases to be by way of the appearance of the dawn and him not having the need for her any longer. Or with her making Tawbah and returning back to his bed." Taken from the Sharh of Imaam An-Nawawi of Saheeh Muslim. Al-Haafith Ibn Hajar al-Asqalaanee (may Allaah have mercy upon him) mentioned in Fathul-Baaree (9/294): "Al-Imaam Ibn Abee Jamrah (may Allaah have mercy upon) said: In this narration there's an evidence for the acceptance of the supplication of the angels from that which is good or evil being that the Prophet (sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam) frightened (the women) with that."
