Houthis dictate the course of the war in Yemen

A video shows that the Houthis managed to control “Dokhan Mountain” on the Saudi border without firing a single shot, they just simply negotiated with the Saudi border guards.
Many reports on the Saudi involvement in Yemen-war after the Houthis attack on the border area, but little said about the Asir region is originally a Yemeni area occupied by Saudi Arabia with the so called Al-Taif Agreement ll — 2000 (first one was in 1934). Saudi Arabia forced Yemen to sign the Agreement in exchange for the halt the Saudi support for the South-Yemen separatists (map of Yemen with Asir region).
Until few years ago Asir was a disputed area, there was even a failed assassination attempt on the Saudi ambassador in Yemen back in 1991 because of Asir, when an armed Yemeni man hold the Saudi ambassador as a hostage for 24 hours.
How the Houthis control the rules of war:
- The Houthis, are not a traditional guerrilla anymore, they become a semi-military force fights a war with technical, information and media capabilities.
- The Houthis are very active on the internet, produce images and videos of the defeated Yemeni army or the killing of civilians. In many occasions, Houthis information materials embarrassed the Yemeni government.
- The Yemeni government repeatedly said that ending the conflict is very near, but in reality the war is spreading in a wider range and across the borders. This fact will affect the credibility of the Yemeni government, and gives the Houthis more credibility.
- The war between the Yemeni army and the Houthis extended outside the border, which means that the Houthis are the side who lead the course of the war. The Houthis forced Saudi Arabia to admit its involvement in the war after a long time of concealing this reality.
