I don't understand. China paid for the oil at the agreed upon price. The oil was theirs to use or sell as they wish. It's called capitalism. Chavez may not like it, but it is the right of anyone to buy and sell commodities as they wish. Ownership is ownership.China has locked in dozens of deals with small oil exporting nations over the past years. It is clear that they are getting much of their oil below market prices. Of course they are importing only 4-5 million barrels per day, which allows them to successfully "scrape the barrel". We can't because our demand is much higher.

But since China puts this oil to much better use than we do, they are deriving a much higher return on investment on it at any price than we do.

And therein lies our problem.Why don't we have good relations with Hugo Chavez? We could be getting $5 oil instead of $100 oil. That, in itself, would bring us out of the recession.Pretty bad PROPAGANDA from the Houston oil billionares who don't like their FIXED PRICES being undercut.

IMO....the Associated Press is a manufacturer of NAZI Propaganda and needs to be shut down! (And its owners shot dead!)
