The issue wasn't whether the government had the right to wiretap this group. There was a Federal judge available 24/7 to sign just this type of emergency warrant for terrorism. The issue was that the Bush Administration chose to go against the Constitution and chose not to go through the legal process of using this Federal Judge. If the Bush Administration could prove there was a reason for the warrant, they could get one in a matter of minutes. Bush didn't think the Constitution applied to him.
Don't blame the judge for upholding the Constitution. Blame the Bush Administration for not following the Constitution and making no effort to prove they had a basis for the warrant.Only in California can a judge appointed by Bill Clinton award millions of dollars to people attempting to commit mass murder.Fight for the right to speak our minds even if no one agrees! Breaking the law even if you are the government should be accountable for its actions. Who was watchng America when 9/11 hit. Bush admin. was sleeping. We have all the most sophisticated tech for protecting its citizens and guess what Bush admin had their heads in the sand!
