Afghan President Hamid Karzai has the diplomatic problem of personal and political honesty in his public communication efforts. Not western or American approved forms of honesty but a fresh open honesty nevertheless. In Karzai's Afganistan "foreign interference" has been a serious problem especially American interference and he is quite correct, unless America is not currently attempting nation building instead of its original Al-Qaeda Military Mission which has actually been over for nearly nine years. The Taliban are not Al-Qaeda but local religious fanatics fighting everyone over local and regional goals. The Taliban fight America because America invaded their home -- for good reason or otherwise and they will continue to fight as long as America and allies are present.
I believe that Karzai is building up the personal and political courage to propose national referendum to force removal of all foreign Military forces before 2014. This idea suits me just fine. America does not seem to know when its services are no longer desired (Pink-Slip) as in Iraq.
