If you get promoted to a managerial post in the UK, you get a pay rise and be in a different tax bracket. Which means that at the end of the day, you'll have GBP1,000 increase in your income. Which ofcourse is not worth the trouble of a 16 hr workday.
40-50% of your income goes into some form of tax. For this trouble, the government makes you wait at least16 hours in an emergency room, at least 10 days wait to get an appointment with a doctor, worse yet, 5 days to get to see a nurse.
