Powell has more honor than the Bush administration put together. Neocons clearly and plainly weren't interested in the truth. They were howling for Iraq war before they had the slightest clue who did 911. It doesn't matter how many books they write or speaking tours they do or Fox news interviews they do. The only thing they have left is to replace the truth with propaganda, and boy are they trying.The French Government knew better.
Before the Iraqi invasion, George W. Bush tried to get the UN Security Council to sign on to his war, and all reluctantly agreed, except for France. They wanted another 30 days to let Hans Blick finish up his efforts to find the Weapons of Mass Destruction.
Bush was impatient; he gave them "The Finger" and started the war anyway.
American Right-Wing politicians made a big deal about boycotting "French Fries" and called them "Freedom Fries" instead.
Now, it turns out the French Government was right, and the American Government was about as mistaken as it could possibly be. The result? $$$Trillions of $$$ of added US debt, 5500 dead American servicemen, 100,000 dead Iraqis, and lots and lots of bad PR for the USA.
History will not be kind to the G.W.Bush presidency.
