Let me get this straight...the extend a freeze that does not include Jerusalem for 90 days. In return...the US has to permanently veto any international action to create a Palestinian state and we send more military aid. On top of this the US cannot ask Israel for another freeze.
This is ridiculous that we have to bribe them for a lousy three months. All Israel has to do is sabotage peace...again and let the new ban expire. Then they can enjoy never having to deal with a settlement freeze again and the US will block any attempts at a Palestinian state. This will leave Israel to do whatever it wants and be 3 million richer for a 3 month freeze extension.
The Idea of the freeze is so settlement in disputed areas hold off until borders are finalized and a Palestinian state can be created. Then settlements in Israeli territory can resume...they just won't be settlements anymore since will be within Israeli borders.
Israel does not want peace...they want it all and this is just another attempt at blocking a palistinian state from being created and they are trying to manipulate the us to veto and block international support for said state. And while they are at it...why not try to grab a couple of billion in the process.
The US should end aid to Israel, give it to the PA and recognize a Palestinian state based on the 67 borders with east Jerusalem as a capitol. The PA has stated borders...Israel has refused and should give up the right to weigh in. They had their chance but would only lead to peace...which they don't want.
Reject this proposal...it is a sham!
