How about Guantanamo prisoners? Holding them for years doesn't violate international law? Those suspected militants were send to other places first for torturing in the form of water boarding in more unknown places such as airforce bases in Poland and Thailand. So Gitmo is nothing compared to there as there are more public eyes on Gitmo Trying to compare Chinese culture & values through the prism of an American point of view is and always will be biased, as with any culture that is foreign to our own. It amazes me how we all love to point fingers at other's that don't follow our value system, while the other side has plenty of counter-points to show the hypocritical nature of our accusations. What's the point? China will develop culturally and economically at its own pace. The catalysis that will start the major changes will originate from its people, and will play out down the years to come. As an American, I think we should worry about our own issues and problems than spending time expending hot air at country, which in all honesty, could care less about what we think.
