Rar is actually wrong on this point; at least in recent history. And, historically Islam was very tolerant of other religions, especially when compared to Christianity. Demonizing Islam this way (errant assumptions/non-factual) makes you sound like an ignorant
f-ckhead, additionally. The Sadrists stood with the Sunni Resistance of Fallujah. That is why their Resistance almost worked. The US had a difficult time defeating both at the same time (in Fallujah, in Najaf and Baghdad). The US then used its secular Kurdish allies to work up sectarian violence. Sadr is an Iraqi Arab nationalist more than anything else. If there is a civl war it will be Islamic Resistance (both Sunni and Shia) vs. secular, pro-US forces (dominated by secular Shia and secular Kurds). Even 10-20% of Kurds, deeply religious, would back Sadr over the US. Also, it would be a way to restore pride and unity after all that the occupation has taken away. Moreover, if they could get the oil going again, they could put a lot of other oil producers out of business.
