Israeli Strikes Reportedly Bury Dozens

BEIRUT, Lebanon -- Israeli airstrikes flattened two southern Lebanese houses Friday.One attack flattened a building in Aita al-Shaab, a mile inside Lebanon, Lebanon's National News Agency reported. Lebanese security officials said the number of occupants was around 50, and that they were still buried in the rubble there.
Warplanes also hit Taibeh, about 3 miles from the Israeli border, destroying a house where 17 people had taken refuge, the news agency reported.

Israeli Kills Sixteen In Gaza

Sixteen Palestinians have been killed since Israeli troops and tanks moved into southern Gaza three days ago, part of a monthlong offensive in the Mediterranean coastal strip.
In the first airstrike a 16-year-old girl, Kifah Natour, and her brother, Amar, 15, were killed said Dr. Ali Musa, the director of the local hospital. Their mother, Huda, 50, later died of her wounds. Four other people, including their 13-year-old brother, were seriously wounded when the missile hit.

Israeli troops' landing in Lebanon foiled
BEIRUT (LEBANON): Israeli commandos attacked near the southern city of Tyre on Saturday but were repelled by Hezbollah militants who killed an Israeli member of the force and wounded others, the group said in a statement.

Lebanese military officials said the Israeli commando landed near an orange grove, cut a hole through a barbed wire fence and targeted the second floor apartment a second floor apartment in a building.
