After reading all the comments posted here, it clearly showed that:-

1) Human beings are mostly selfish creatures.... it's alright when when you're exploiting* other people's land but won't like it when other people are doing the same to your land.

2) Though rare earths are becoming more & more important because of its usage in modern technology, mining them have its perils as it damages the surrounding environments.

3) When China extensively mining them to sell, people said she is one heck of a polluter; when she cuts down on the production and thus her export of these minerals, the same people complained she is violating WTO's rules.

4) In short everything these people do is always right while other people is always wrong.

5) For me, I will tell them to go & fly kites....for nobody has the right to have his/her cake and eats it
