I don't think other countries should get involved in this...the rebels have plenty of AK-47's and stolen tanks in order to fight the pro-Gadhafi forces. If the resistance was unarmed and had no way of fighting back, then I would be in favor of an international peace keeping force. The US does have transports to carry passegers. I think that the US transports are being used to bring thousands of African to the US, every month. When Barrck/Barry went to Indonesia, he used 20 planes to bring 200 people with him.
I'll bet that when he came back to the US, there probably were 4000 extra people, that had been shuttled to Indonesia, from Africa.
If you recall, two planes were used to go to Copenhagen. I guess that there were too many Africans shuttled to Copenhagan, to come back to the US, on one plane. For those who are impatient to see bombs over Libya, this massive evacuation should tell you why it hasn't happened yet. After seeing how many foreigners worked in Libya, it's plain to see why the Libyans revolted. In the US, the 11 million foreigners live in the shadows and take jobs that no Americans want. In Libya, the Libyan people lived in the shadows and filled the jobs no foreigners wanted.
