It's therefore, quite pathetic that the US puts itself in a position to support rebels against governements that are relatively stable..especially looking at the cases in Africa were alot of countries have suffered under their so called legitimately elected leaders. The western democracy has actually brought in more wars in Africa than the other forms of governance. I suggest that America with its greediness for OIL should stop poking its nose into other countries' affairs.Gadhafi is a nationalist, anti-theocrat dictator. Do the rebels believe in democracy or do they believe in Islamic Holy War. Spliting the country might be possible, since there is a good deal of waste land. This is not the war to end all wars. A truce will be as good as having a winner. The oil will flow one way or another.I hear complains about supporting Kaddafi. He changed - gave up his nukes to US, paid compensation to Pan Am relatives, spoke against Bin Laden. That takes guts. Better than other arab leaders.Stay the F--- out of it just wasting US tax dollars. Exactly what they want. Bin Laden wins againthat rebel in the pic is wearing US issue web gear(equipment harness on body) and uniform looks like we are already there.
