Germans Taxpayers Pay To Rebuild Lebanon
The crisis began when a government official criticized Israel's use of cluster bombs.
  Wieczorek-Zeul said:......... "The world should call for a UN investigation into Israel use of cluster bombs."

Knobloch said:................... "The least she could have done was to visit Israel first. She should have reached out first to the attacked, not the attackers."
  Merkle said:....................... "I offered Germany's financial pledge to help rebuild Lebanon"
  Ulrich Wilhelm said:........... 'All government officials must limit criticism of Israel because of the Holocaust'
Wieczorek-Zeul  has continued to defend her comment and repeated her appeal for a general ban on carpet bombs.
